چکیده
Drake, John W. (University of Illinois, Urbana). Multiplicity reactivation of Newcastle disease virus. J. Bacteriol. 84:352-356. 1962.-A very weak multiplicity reactivation occurs among Newcastle disease virus particles inactivated by ultraviolet irradiation. The preliminary steps in the infection of embryonic chicken fibroblasts are complex, and their relation to multiplicity reactivation is discussed.

Reactivation of Newcastle Disease Virus Neutralized by Antibody.
In an effort to improve current technology for detection of Newcastle disease virus in convalescent birds, a procedure has been developed for efficient reactivation of virus that has been neutralized by antibody. The reactivation capabilities of fluorocarbon treatment, ultrasonic treatment, pH extremes, and proteolytic digestion were evaluated using the LaSota strain of virus. Reactivation was ...
متن کاملGrowth inhibition of Newcastle disease virus upon superinfection of poliovirus in the presence of guanidine.
When HeLa cells were simultaneously infected with a high multiplicity of poliovirus and a low multiplicity of Newcastle disease virus (NDV), a definite inhibition of NDV growth was observed, while the growth of poliovirus was unaffected. Moreover, under conditions where the multiplication of poliovirus was prevented by guanidine, which is known to inhibit the formation of the ribonucleic acid (...
متن کاملDifferentiation of Virulent and Non-Virulent Newcastle Disease Virus Isolates Using RT-PCR
Newcastle disease is one of the main concerns of poultry farmers. Detection of virulent strains of Newcastle disease virus (NDV) has a great impact on control measures against the disease. In this study RT-PCR was optimized in high sensitivity in order to differentiate the virulent from non-virulent NDV isolates directly in tissue homogenates. The vaccinal NDV strain and known field isolates we...
